Writing software still feels like a challenging undertaking with a sometimes unpredictable outcome. Only a week separates following two blog posts: "With CouchDB, I always emphasized the quality of the high-level design and code implementation. We cannot under any circumstances lose or corrupt your committed data, or get things into an inconsistent state. Reliability and durability are absolutely imperative. Any design or implementation that doesn't meet these goals doesn't make it into the project." and "If you are using CouchDB 1.0.0 and have the default setting for 'delayed_commits' (true) then you are affected by this data loss bug.".
